An AI tutor that teaches on a shared notebook.
I’ve No Idea is a product of Project Group 21. It gives a student the thing a chatbot cannot: a teacher sitting beside them, working through the material on a page they both share — one they can interrupt at any moment to ask about the exact step that has them stuck.
The problem we are solving
Every student gets stuck on a specific step. Today the way out of that is clumsy: leave your notes, open a chatbot, retype or photograph the problem, explain the context it cannot see, read a wall of text, then come back and try to line the answer up against the line you were actually looking at. The context is lost twice over — once when you leave the page, and again when you return to it.
Private tutoring solves this, which is why the world spends billions of dollars a year on it. What makes a tutor work is not that they know more than a textbook. It is that they are looking at the same page as you, so "where did this term come from?" is a complete question. We are building that shared page.
How it works
- The lesson is written, not printed. The tutor fills a notebook page in handwriting at reading speed — the working appears in the order a person would write it, narrated as it goes, with the figures and graphs drawn line by line.
- You can interrupt it. Stop the lesson mid-sentence, circle any part of the page, and ask. The answer is written onto that same page, in the same hand, in the place it belongs.
- You write on it too. The notebook is shared. Your notes are anchored to the line they are about and stay beside it, in your own hand and your own colour.
- It follows your syllabus. Lessons are mapped to a specific specification — IGCSE, GCSE, A Levels, AP, IB and SAT — rather than to a generic curriculum, so the sequence matches the one you are actually examined on.
- Practice comes from real papers. Past papers and topical questions, worked through with the tutor available the moment you stall.
Handwriting is central, so tablets — iPad and Android — are the primary target. On a laptop the same lesson runs in the browser, where you highlight part of the page and ask about it instead of writing on it.
What is live today
We would rather be precise than impressive, so: this website is the lecture side of the product, and it is a real, working build you can watch right now.
- Recorded lessons play end to end — the handwriting, the figures, the narration, the subtitles and the note-taking are all live in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
- The syllabus map is honest. Every subject shows its complete specification with unrecorded lessons marked coming soon rather than hidden, so what exists and what does not is visible at a glance.
- The interruption path is built but switched off here. Stopping the lesson, boxing part of the page and having an answer written onto it all work; what this static build has no access to is the tutor model that composes the answer, so the panel says so rather than failing quietly. It runs in our development build.
- Question mode and accounts are designed and not yet shipped. They are labelled as such everywhere they appear.

The idea came out of a real afternoon. Fatim was working through the derivations in a Deep Vision Models course and kept wanting to point at a line and ask “where did this term come from?” — a question that only makes sense if someone is looking at the same page. That is the product.
